its been 10 minutes and you still only have 3 likes on your picture. Do you:

A) Delete it and post it later?

B) Delete it completely and cut your losses?

Or

C) Edit your post and actually make it appealing?

Obviously C, and its not too difficult to add appeal. How you may ask? With content. Content is extremely important when it comes to online engagement with viewers, followers, customers and sometimes even friends.

So what is it?

Content is basically all of the information that is involved with a post. For example, a proper way to have a content filled post would be to include a location, tag accounts in the picture, have an entertaining caption and most importantly… HASHTAGS. A poor example would be a regular picture with a vague/general caption that none of your followers understand. No one wants to like that sh*t.

-Including a location adds your image to a list of other pictures that were also shared in that location, making it easy for people who don’t follow you to still see your pictures.

-Tagging accounts adds your image to that accounts ‘Tagged Pictures’ feed, allowing people who follow that account to see your pictures.

-A proper caption would include context of the picture, or literally anything else worth reading (Also, tagging accounts in your caption gives them a notification and causes them to view the image).

-HASHTAGS ARE SO IMPORTANT. So basically, Instagram arranges your timeline and search feed (The Magnifying glass) based on other images you like, and the hashtags associated with them. If you include anywhere between 5 and 20 hashtags relevant to your image, it allows people who don’t even follow you to view your image in their search feed. The more hashtags you add, the more chances you have to be searched for.
